The Hermit Pass trail is accessed via County Road 160 near Westcliffe. Our UTV rentals include full GPS navigation to ensure you find the trailhead and stay on route through the backcountry.

DIFFICULTY

Expect technical rocky switchbacks and steep high-altitude climbs reaching over 13,000 feet. This trail is best suited for drivers comfortable with rugged terrain and changing mountain conditions.

SEASON

The high-alpine season typically runs from late June through September, depending on snowpack. Always check weather forecasts as conditions can change rapidly in the Sangre de Cristos.

SAFETY

Helmets are mandatory for all riders. Every Polaris Ranger is equipped with satellite mesh communication. All drivers must be 25+ with a valid license and insurance for expedition rentals.
